It seems like everyone in this world has a tight neck, shoulders and upper back! The comfortable, device dependent lifestyle guarantees a tight, painful upper body.
I can’t help it but I’m constantly looking at people’s neck and upper back posture, lol!
It happens all the time that I see someone’s head literally hanging forward unsupported as they are looking at their phone.
Ok, enough of the pep-talk, you know exactly why your neck/back/shoulders are hurting.
Now let’s come to the solution
If you’re trying to stretch your neck, shoulders and upper back and you don’t get lasting results (aka the tightness comes back too soon) you must change course and start strengthening instead of stretching.
Why?
Because if your brain detects a weak area that’s prone to injury, it will create neurological tightness to protect the weak area from an injury. It’s like your nervous system creates a cast or a brace around a weak structure to create stability.
