October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
I sincerely hope that you are both healthy and content. However, if you have recently undergone breast surgery, such as a lumpectomy, mastectomy, or breast reconstruction. You are most likely noticing that your range of motion in your shoulders,
And in your chest, may be even in your upper back is affected. Limited mobility can further progress and cause pain and stiffness in the shoulders and even in your neck and upper and middle back.
Also, you might have just undergone surgery and you’re a little timid to move because you’re not sure what kind of movement you would benefit from as you don’t want to do to much too soon. So let me show you some easy, therapeutic exercises that will help you move and feel better. They will also help restore your confidence in movement, plus, they are going to feel quite good!
No matter where you currently stand on your journey – whether you are preparing for surgery, recovering post-surgery, undergoing ongoing treatment, or celebrating survivorship – you must integrate movement into your rehabilitation.
My Recommendation:
I highly recommend you start out with one-on one training so you get your trainer’s full attention, as proper execution of movement will be essential. Chances are, you will have to retrain your body to eliminate faulty movement habits and for that, having a keen set of eyes on you will be very important. And what kind of results should you expect from your one-on one training? Increased mobility, decreased stiffness and pain, a stretching routine you can easily do at home too, etc.
In the accompanying video, I will guide you through a series of exercises, beginning with the gentlest ones and gradually progressing to more advanced movements. Feel free to share this video with anyone who may benefit from it.
Make sure you keep your body hydrated after these exercises and pay attention to proper nutrition. Limit your intake of all the bad stuff such as sugary drinks, too much caffeine, unhealthy fats, etc. Provide your body with a balanced diet so it can heal and recover faster. Rest and proper sleep are equally important as they allow your body to repair and regenerate tissues.

And by incorporating these exercises, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and seeking professional guidance. You can speed up your recovery process and improve your overall health and quality of life.
