Have you noticed that a simple task such as looking over your shoulder when driving has become difficult?

If you wonder why is that, look no further. The reason is, you’re losing mobility in your cervical spine.

About 50% of neck rotation should come from the first two vertebrae. The rest of the cervical spine splits the other 50%, gradually rotating less and less as you progress from C3 to C7.

The part of your neck where your head meets your spine is called the sub occipital area, which is very prone to get stiff and immobile. When that area can’t rotate properly due to stiffness, your lower cervical spine starts moving more, which is a problem, because the lower cervical should be more stable.

So what’s the solution to the problem?
We need to mobilize the upper cervical spine, where the majority of the motion should be coming from, so the lower cervical spine can be more stable and it won’t have to do tasks it wasn’t designed to do.
THIS IS WHAT YOU SHOULD DO NEXT TO INCREASE YOUR UPPER NECK MOBILITY:
