Superficial Back Line Series
Many people mistakenly believe that lower-back pain is caused by a problem with their lower back. My client Thalia is the mother of 3 young children, therefore she often needs to bend forward and pick up the kids. One day she bent forward to tie her toddler’s shoes and she felt a sharp pain in her lower back. So sharp, she was afraid to move, so instead of standing up, she dropped on her knees and crawled over to her phone to call her husband for help. She was so concerned about a possible slipped disk in her spine, she went and had an MRI. Needless to say, the MRI did not show significant degeneration. Definitely not enough to justify the level of pain Thalia was experiencing. What could’ve caused her lower back pain then?
When you lean forward, the spine rounds/flexes. This movement of the spine requires other parts of the body to work as well. When bending forward, the ankles, knees and hips should also bend to help lower the torso. After assessing Thalia’s body, I noticed her Hamstrings were extremely tight. So tight, they did not let her hips bend. Repeating the same movement over and over, while her Hamstrings were pulling her hips in the opposite direction, finally manifested in significant lower back pain. The key in helping Thalia feel better and avoiding future occurrences was to eliminate her Hamstring tightness. Scroll down and watch my video to find out how I helped Thalia release her Hamstrings.
