Your ankles need to be one of the most mobile joints in your body….but, are they?
We all need at least 10 degrees of ankle dorsiflexion for normal gait mechanics. If your arches are fallen, your big toes are shifted towards the lesser toes, you have bunions and/or you walk with your feet turned out, you most likely lack ankle dorsiflexion.
If you lack ankle mobility, you may have local problems such as foot and ankle pain or global problems like knee, hip or lower back pain. See how stiff ankles can cause big problems?
The root cause of the problem is that your feet don’t get to work the way they were designed. That’s because we walk on artificial surfaces in restrictive shoes from the day we stand up and start walking as babies. Then over the decades of our lives our feet and ankles become more and more stiff.
Well, that all sounds a bit depressing but good news is, there’s always a solution for the problem.
So let’s get your ankles moving!
In this video I’m giving you lots of ideas of how to improve your ankle mobility. Do these moves 5 times a week for a month and your ankles will be well lubricated and mobile again.
